Well it seems I’ve succeeded in launching an idea that has never been attempted before – a creative blog about stuff.
Ok, perhaps it has been attempted once or twice; or eleventy zillion times infinity – but who’s counting? I felt it was long overdue, if for no one else but me all alone here, to get all of these thoughts, ideas, questions, and armchair philosophy somewhere more efficient than my pile of dog-eared notebooks and sketch pads lying all over the place. So I decided to launch FadedRadio.com. If you’re wondering what this is all about, I invite you to read my attempt at an “about” page here.
Sometimes my mind is very deserving of a handicapped parking pass, and can’t be counted on for anything close to rigid consistency. Looking forward from now, I’m sure there will be days where I post three or four entries, and then times where I may go a month or more without anything. I get on kicks – times where I’m completely immersed in a particular subject, and can’t really focus on much else. Then it passes, as if it was never there to begin with. Am I the only one? I think ADHD is often mistaken for creativity; and no doubt, the reverse applies as well.
I don’t know. I thought it had a nice ring to it, and it was somehow available as a .com domain. Also, it was necessary to avoid an unintentional domain name disaster like the ones documented here.
If no one ever ventures here, or takes notice at all, it will serve as an outlet for me. There are plenty of creative and design blogs; and plenty of marketing strategy, branding, and communications blogs out there – but few try and really fuse the two. My interests are varied, and my thinking sometimes incoherent. Nevertheless, here we are. I want to try and document new ideas, share inspiration, explore messages that speak effectively to consumers, look at the latest in web development and SEO, maybe show some of my own work, and hopefully, elicit conversation and feedback from you.
